BookAPI is responsible for the provision and interoperability of book and magazine data. It is also capable of transforming content to different formats for consumption from the reading interface as well as third party services. BookAPI is the core of the platform and is responsible for managing all tools and processes, such as user interface (UI) visualization, content storage (books, magazines) as well as the commercial side of selling/disposing products (ecommerce)
The goal of BookAPI is to offer a common way of quering digitised content wihout having to expose other facets of the infrastructure and complexities to the end users.
This option offers great flexibility in the future integration of new tools such as, for example, alternative product distribution platforms, interfacing with ERP services, content export to other formats, etc. All of the above make up a particularly attractive service proposition for the publishing market.
